With the 2022 Qatar World Cup around the corner some international teams have called up their players for national duty. Today the England gaffer called 25 of his players. Amongst those 25, there are 3 GK, twelve defenders, five midfielders and eight forwards. Is this really enough for England to bring it home this time?
Most of those who are called up today are regular players in the national team, however there is new call up. Ivan Toney is the newest member of the England national footbal team. The 26 years old Northampton born Englishman has impressed many including the coach Southgate. The forward out of Brentford F.C has been a joy to watch in the Premier League. As fans from the club would describe him as a" breath of fresh air".
Upon promotion from the championship last season, Toney took the premier league by force, in 33 matches played, scoring 12 goals and 5 assists. With the new season just started, he already played 6 matches and recorded a whopping 5 goals and 2 assists. The fans await to see what the future holds for this young talent.
WHO ARE THE SNUBS ?
Unfortunately Marcus Rasford and Jordan Sancho have not been called. Both Man United players have not been choosen to represent their country. The last time they played for the international team was in the Euros, where they lost in penalty to italy. Rashford was amongst those who missed penalties for England. Those two are the major names that need to be talked about and is Southgate making a mistake?
